Hi! I’m Jackie, and I’m part of Team Ontario in Basketball! Volunteering with Special Olympics was on my bucket list after I retired from teaching, and I’ve now been involved for four years.
Special Olympics has introduced me to many new friends, and volunteering has been incredibly rewarding. One of my proudest moments was winning gold at Ontario Provincials in Basketball with our team.
I’m a retired elementary school teacher and now serve as Head Coach of D+ Basketball in London.
Being part of Team Ontario is so exciting — I love watching these athletes succeed.
My advice? Look after yourself so you can compete at your best.
