Hi! I’m Kara, and I compete in Swimming for Team Ontario! I first got involved with Special Olympics through my community, and I’ve now been part of the program for 15 years.
Special Olympics has helped me become more independent and confident. One of my proudest moments was finding out I made Team Ontario.
I work at Sobeys pushing carts and stay active by helping with fundraising in my community.
Being part of Team Ontario means a lot to me — it’s one of my biggest goals achieved.
My advice? Get out in your community wearing your Special Olympics gear and be proud!
