Hi! I’m Jennifer, and I’m part of Team Ontario in Swimming. I first got involved when my daughter was participating, and I volunteered to help out our team. I’ve now been part of Special Olympics for 10 years.
I have been blessed with so many new friends. The Special Olympians remind me every day of the true joy that can be found in sport if you stop and enjoy the moment.
One of my proudest moments was watching the athletes cheer and support their teammates during the Provincial Games — and having the honour of carrying the Special Olympics flag during the opening ceremonies.
I am active as a Team Manager and swim coach in Cambridge, and I am a former Community Coordinator for the New Hamburg community.
Being part of Team Ontario is an honour. I’m excited to help these phenomenal athletes reach their goals and to experience this alongside my daughter as she takes part in her first National Games.
My advice? Practice hard, try your best, and always have fun.
