Hi! I’m Val, and I’m part of Team Ontario as Mission Staff. I first got involved when my parents got me involved, and I’ve been part of Special Olympics for 15 years.
Special Olympics has helped me make new friends and have fun.
One of my proudest moments was winning medals at the National Games in Newfoundland. I’ve also participated at the World Games in Austria in Alpine Skiing and National Games in Newfoundland for Alpine Ski.
I work at Western University handing out gym equipment, and I’m active through committee and council meetings.
Being part of Team Ontario means making some new friends.
My advice? Have fun. If you are shy — just do it.
