Hi! I’m Shannon, and I compete in Soccer for Team Ontario! I first got involved 41 years ago after seeing athletes playing baseball on my way home — and I’ve been part of Special Olympics ever since.
Special Olympics has strengthened my belief that anything is possible. One of my proudest moments was bringing bowling to my school when I was still a student — creating opportunities for others was very meaningful.
I stay active in my community in many ways, from volunteering at bingo to coaching and coordinating programs.
My advice? Sleep when you can and take advantage of every opportunity!
