Hi! I’m Renee, and I compete in Bocce for Team Ontario! I first got involved in Special Olympics when I started swimming at nine years old, and I’ve now been part of the movement for 25 years.
I love sports, and Special Olympics has helped keep me active while building friendships along the way. One of my proudest moments was winning a gold medal in bocce at the Ontario Provincials.
I work at the Jarrett Value Centre Thrift Store and participate in community fundraising events.
Being part of Team Ontario gives me the opportunity to compete at a higher level, and I’m proud to represent my community.
My advice? Work hard and be proud — you’re already a champion.
