Hi! I’m Mert, and I compete in Soccer for Team Ontario. My dad helped me get involved with Special Olympics, and I’ve now been part of it for 10 years.
Special Olympics helps me meet new people and connect with others.
One of my proudest moments was competing in the 2025 Summer Provincial Games with the Burlington soccer team, and also in the 2016 Summer Provincial Games with Burlington track and field.
I work at Movati Athletic as cleaning staff.
Being part of Team Ontario means a lot, and it’s going to be a really good learning experience.
My advice? Always have fun. It doesn’t matter if you’re winning or losing — always have fun.
