Hi! I’m Jessica, and I compete in Tenpin for Team Ontario. I got involved thanks to my mom, dad, and sister. I started when I was 7 years old, and they have supported me all these years.
Special Olympics has impacted my life so much. I’ve been to 3 Provincial Games and now 2 National Games and have met so many friends over the years.
One of my proudest achievements is my hard work and dedication to bowling over 18 years. At the Provincial Games in Waterloo, I won silver as a team, gold as a pair, and gold individually. I told myself I at least wanted bronze — and I got all three medals.
Being part of Team Ontario means so much to me, especially as it’s coming up on ten years since I’ve been to National Games.
My advice?
You ain’t got friends — you got family.
You can either run from it or learn from it.
