Hi! I’m Emily, and I compete in Rhythmic Gymnastics for Team Ontario. I first got involved after being referred by a friend, and I’ve now been part of Special Olympics for 13 years.
Special Olympics has given me more diversity in my life. One of my proudest moments was finally winning 1st place at Provincials.
I’ve previously participated at the 2018 National Games in Nova Scotia.
I volunteer at a seniors active learning centre and also work as a paid artistic gymnastics assistant coach. I’ve also participated in parades within my Special Olympics community.
Being part of Team Ontario makes me very proud of myself.
My advice? If you feel nervous, that’s completely normal.
