Marley Gayler

Hi! I’m Marley, and I compete in Powerlifting for Team Ontario. I first started in Special Olympics with five pin bowling — my mom put me in it to get more social.

Special Olympics has made me more confident and social and has kept me in shape.

One of my proudest moments was winning gold at the Berlin World Games and seeing how many Special Olympics athletes there are. My parents were proud of me, and pin trading was fun.

I previously competed in National Games for Cross Country Skiing.

I work full time at Tim Hortons, where I do cleaning, make coffee, and serve baked goods. I participate in fundraising, including the Torch Run and helping out at the Polar Plunge.

Being part of Team Ontario means the world to me — I’m very excited and happy to show what I can do.

My advice? Keep working hard and training, and any athlete or coach can help at Nationals — go for it.
