Mitch Houlahan

Hi! I’m Mitch, and I’m part of Team Ontario in Golf. I first got involved when my younger brother became a Special Olympics golfer and asked me to caddy his first tournament — and I’ve been riding his coattails ever since.

Each Special Olympics event you go to, and the many people you meet along the way, combine to impact every part of your life.

One of my proudest moments is watching my brother crush a drive or sink a 25-foot putt in front of a crowd — equal parts pride and “poop your pants” as a caddy.

I haven’t been very active yet in other roles, but I would like to discover ways I can be more helpful to the organization.

Being part of Team Ontario means I love seeing how proud and hyped the athletes are competing for their friends and for a shot at representing Canada.

My advice? Be yourself. Enjoy the competition while you’re there.
