Hi! I’m Amber, and I compete in Bocce for Team Ontario! I first got involved in the year 2000 when my friend Darlene encouraged me to try Special Olympics — and I’ve now been part of it for 25 years.
Special Olympics gave me the chance to experience sports in a way I never did as a child. I’ve competed at National Games before in London, Ontario in Track and Field.
I work as a house cleaner with Community Living and attend fundraisers at Sobeys and Tim Hortons.
Being part of Team Ontario means being accepted for who I am.
My advice? Just have fun — laugh, learn, and enjoy your time.
